I like this a lot. If it doesn't end up as a full contest, I'd probably take someone up on a HxH doing this,
-Take a public domain video from archive.org and create the soundtrack for a silent movie.
-Music from non-music sources.
-Create a remix from an artist who's released tracks for just that purpose ala Nine Inch Nails or Radiohead. (Here's one I did a few years ago from the tracks Nine Inch Nails released for Only: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVDQzPRutUQ )
-Create your version of the "Grey Album" by mixing two different artist's songs into one song.
-Scary sounds/happy sounds. Convey an emotion with just sounds compiled into an audio collage.
-Song leftovers. Have someone post a half written song and have everyone finish the song/remix it.
-Parody. Example: Lady Gagging
-Unnecessary music censorship. " excuse me while I kiss this BLEEEP " (Could be just short sections of songs not the whole thing.)

Wow, some great ones in there! We will be testing the audio entry portion soon (part of the 5 way challenge if nothing else) so I am hoping to see this moving very soon!

I'm starting to feel a little like I did when I first joined in anticipation of the contests to come! And I'm not even a musician! :D
Now that the 5 Area is up, is there any update on when we might be able to do some contests please?
I would like to see a songwriting composition, as Orian1977 suggested. I think this would be great as a team contest. One person could write lyrics, someone else could come up with a tune, and someone else could turn it into actual music. Or maybe there's another step? As the potential lyricist, I'm not sure exactly what's involved in the music part of it.

Yep - we will try to come up with one.
But MEANWHILE if y'all have a great idea - post for a MM revolution. It would be a regular contest if you get enough sign ups or a H2H if there are less than 8. I think we should hold off on teams until we all recover from the 5-way - that was exhausting. :)
I think the 5-way has shown that audio contests can work effectively. Sorry it took us so long.
love this - it a kind of of AUDIO ILLUSTRATION - there should probably be a duration limit - 1 minute? I like the idea of all entries relating to a single picture. Why not choose a winner from a recent contest (FX, ILLO or PHOTO)
